Position Status: Exempt, salaried, full-time 

Position Location: Carmel, IN (preferred)  

Salary Range: $56,000 - $66,000 

Position Summary: The director of information systems is responsible for the maintenance, integrity, and efficiency of the sorority’s information technology operations including the membership database and information systems and serves as the subject matter expert with external consultants and related administrative functions including the maintenance of an accurate data and efficient extraction of data for analysis and reporting.   

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information services, project management or related field of study.  

  • Working knowledge of ASI membership databases (iMIS) or comparable system expertise required. Experience with database environments and understanding multiple integration points.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products (PC and MAC), Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, and SSRS report writing. 

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience, preferably within association management, non-profit management or membership-based organization.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, maintains, and develops strategies for the Sigma Kappa membership database and collaborate with staff on systems tied to the database. 

  • Use Intelligent Query Architects (IQAs) to create data pulls requested by staff and train staff on creating their own reports, as needed. 

  • Manages relationships with key third-party vendors to provide information technology (IT) and information systems (IS) (infrastructure- hardware and software, internet, network, database, etc.) guidance.  

  • Oversees and project manages IT/IS initiatives to meet the organization's need. Trains and implements technological improvements and enhancements to meet ever-changing needs.  

  • Maintains detailed records and controls and administers network access permissions and privileges.  

  • Implements disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.  

  • In conjunction with the technology vendors, create processes to ensure the integrity and security of systems, troubleshoot office network, software and hardware issues and schedule maintenance/repair as needed (network and laptop computers) for all staff. 

  • Develops, forecasts and manages IT/database budget. 

  • Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the chief executive officer or SDOS of Sigma Kappa Sorority.

  • Promote the ongoing development of a service rapport with staff, chapters, local and national volunteers and all members of the Sorority.  

  • Represent Sigma Kappa within related professional organizations as approved by the SDOS and/or chief executive officer.   

  • Provides technical support and guidance to staff and national volunteers.  

  • Collaborates across teams and entities within the organization.  

  • Offers premier customer service to a wide range of end-users with varying levels of comfort and familiarity with technology. 

  • Assist with preparations for national meetings as assigned, and travel to meetings to provide on-site staff support, as needed.  

  • Demonstrate a positive, problem-solving mindset and a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.   

  • Demonstrated project management experience.   

  • Maintain positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contact with other membership groups, university officials, vendors, and others.   

  • Maintain and develop materials and procedure notebooks as appropriate to the position.  

  • Strong customer service skills, the ability to manage multiple projects in a timely, well-organized fashion, written and oral communication skills, and ability to be detail oriented 

  • Communicate regularly with vendors and staff regarding updates, issues and changes to Sorority headquarters and employee technology. 

  • Stay apprised of technology industry trends and recommend modifications to systems as appropriate. 

Technical/Computer Skills: 

  • Ability to effectively use email (MS Outlook) and MS Office software programs as necessary.  

  • Ability and willingness to effectively use other job-related technology tools.  

Physical Demands:  

  • Ability to stand under 1/3 of the time.  

  • Ability to walk under 1/3 of the time.  

  • Ability to sit over 2/3 of the time.  

  • Ability to talk or hear from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.  

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. under 1/3 of the time.  

Work Environment:  

  • The work environment is that of a fast-paced office with minimal to high noise levels and moderate temperatures.  

  • This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.  

  • This position requires verbal and face-to-face contact with others on a daily basis.  

  • Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.  

  • The position requires client information to be maintained appropriately confidential.
