Position Summary: Traveling Leadership Specialists are adaptable and inclusive leaders with a strong presence, resilience, and a talent for building meaningful relationships. They collaborate with collegiate chapters, volunteers, and staff within assigned regional areas to foster growth and success, and are responsible for driving impactful member development initiatives, providing expert guidance on chapter operations and retention, and offering strategic consulting tailored to individual needs. As a valued member of the Sorority staff, this position also handles essential administrative tasks, ensuring seamless support for this Sorority’s mission. This position requires a commitment to excellence and the ability to thrive in a role that involves both travel and occasional evening and weekend work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Proficiency with written and oral communication, customer service, organizational and delegation skills, attention to detail, IT skills, presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to appreciate and work with individuals and experiences that are different than one's own
- Knowledge of Sigma Kappa Sorority operations, Bylaws, Ritual, policies and procedures
- Prior experience in creating trust, development and implementation of change efforts
- Prior experience as Sigma Kappa chapter officer, Panhellenic officer and/or campus leader preferred
Responsibilities:
- Support collegiate chapter officers, local and national volunteers for assigned districts in all areas of chapter operations through a mix of in-person and virtual efforts.
- Visit collegiate chapters to support chapter operations, officer education, ritual assistance, retention and membership experience and other responsibilities.
- Manage individual travel schedules, including creating travel plans and booking travel arrangements.
- Develop, host and assess collegiate officer round tables and training sessions to address identified chapter concerns and needs.
- Work collaboratively with the programming and training team to create and/or facilitate training modules, development trainings, etc.
- Provide on-site staff support and facilitation at any national events such as bi-annual national convention and annual Summit for Collegiate Leadership.
- Complete administrative duties related to the position including but not limited to:
- Write and distribute visit reports at the conclusion of collegiate chapter visits.
- Process and record all data related to assigned collegiate districts and chapters.
- Assess the strengths and opportunities of assigned chapters and make suggestions for follow-up. Evaluate chapter effectiveness and adherence to national policies. Work with staff and volunteer teams to create chapter plans of action to address chapter issues and needs.
- Meet with fraternity/sorority advisors, designated chapter officers and attend chapter functions (excluding social functions) during each visit. Provide ongoing support to chapter officers virtually.
- Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the chief executive officer, senior director of membership strategy, director of collegiate management, or collegiate support managers of Sigma Kappa Sorority.

- Promote the ongoing development of a service rapport with chapters, local and national volunteers and all members of the Sorority.
- Represent Sigma Kappa within related professional organizations as approved by the executive director.
- Demonstrate a positive, problem-solving mindset and a spirit of teamwork, customer service and cooperation.
- Demonstrate project management experience.
- Maintain positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contact with other membership groups, university officials, vendors, and others.
- Maintain and develop materials and procedures as appropriate to the position.
- Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Support the organization’s efforts to prepare and execute national events such as bi-annual national convention and annual Summit for Collegiate Leadership, including traveling to events to provide on-site staff support.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Technical/Computer Skills:
Sigma Kappa Sorority is seeking candidates with a strong understanding of collegiate chapter operations in addition to the following skills:
- Strong service orientation, outstanding presentation skills, professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Works with a sense of urgency, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment.
- Adept at managing cross-functional teams effectively.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office 365 software programs and display the technical aptitude/willingness to learn internal systems.
- Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
- Membership in a Greek-lettered organization is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand under 1/3 of the time.
- Ability to walk under 1/3 of the time.
- Ability to sit more than 2/3 of the time.
- Ability to talk or hear from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. under 1/3 of the time.
Work Environment:
- The work environment is that of a fast-paced office with minimal to high noise levels and moderate temperatures.
- This position requires regular travel (8-10 days/month), including occasional night and weekend travel/work.
