Annual Compensation:       Starting at $60,000 

Position Summary: Oversees the strategy and execution of collegiate chapter management and support; Supervises collegiate support managers and harm reduction manager; addresses collegiate management issues; and works with collegiate management, growth, programming and housing teams to deploy support and services to collegiate chapters as needs arise. 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, or similar field preferred 
  • Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, preferred
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience
  • Proven experience with chapter assessment, development of collegiate programming, and implementation of change efforts
  • In-depth knowledge of Sigma Kappa operations, Bylaws, policies, and procedures 
  • Experience implementing strategic plan initiatives  

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees the strategic vision of collegiate management projects, including chapter internal assessment, accreditation, under performing chapters, membership entry and exit, harm reduction and chapter support – while balancing the needs of collegiate chapters, national leadership, universities and other stakeholders. 

  • Works with collegiate management, programming and training, growth and housing teams to deploy appropriate support and services to collegiate chapters, ensuring that decisions are well-informed, data-driven, and aligned with organizational goals. 

  • Utilizes chapter and university statistics and higher education trends to track progress and analyze collegiate chapters, ensuring ethical and strategic decision-making in chapter support efforts. 

  • Maintains university relationships and assists in the response to university relationship statements, conduct cases, Panhellenic matters and award applications. Keeps thorough, up-to-date files of all universities with such documents and collegiate chapter compliance. 

  • Supports the risk management team in proactively identifying and addressing risks within collegiate chapters, adapting strategies as needed to align with evolving risk management best practices.  

  • Participates in the training of traveling leadership specialists by providing relevant chapter and university information and statistics, ensuring that they are equipped with accurate and timely resources to support collegiate chapters effectively.    

  • Regularly updates various stakeholders – including national officers, local volunteers, university and Sigma Kappa entity partners on collegiate chapter statuses and progress, ensuring transparency and effective information sharing.  

  • Works closely with the programming and training team to create and review impactful programming and resources for collegiate chapters, ensuring they align with the Sorority’s vision and chapter needs.   

  • Serves as staff liaison for the director of collegiate chapter management and Panhellenic director volunteer teams fostering strong relationships and providing guidance to ensure successful collaboration. 

  • Leads and supervises collegiate support managers and harm reduction manager, conducting team meetings, providing employee feedback, and delivering annual performance reviews to drive team success and uphold the Sorority’s values.   

  • Develops and manages budgets related to the areas under the direction of collegiate services, ensuring financial responsibility and strategic allocation of resources.  

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the senior director of membership strategy or the chief executive officer of Sigma Kappa Sorority.

  • Demonstrated project management experience in a professional environment.  

  • Excellent communication, customer service, organization, presentation, facilitation and relationship building skills.  

  • Maintain positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contact with other membership groups, university officials, vendors, and others.   

  • Maintain and develop materials and procedure notebooks, as appropriate to the position.  

  • Support the organization’s efforts to prepare and execute national events such as bi-annual national convention and annual Summit for Collegiate Leadership, including traveling to events to provide on-site staff support.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Technical/Computer Skills: 

  • Sigma Kappa Sorority is seeking a candidate with 3-5 years of experience working with fraternal membership organizations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of collegiate chapter operations in addition to the following skills:  

  • Strong service orientation, outstanding presentation skills, professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.  

  • Works with a sense of urgency, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment.  

  • Adept at managing cross-functional teams effectively.  

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office 365 software programs and display the technical aptitude/willingness to learn internal systems.  

  • Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.  
     

Working Conditions:

  • Required 40 hours per week. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, with a degree of flexibility available. Additional work hours may be necessary to complete assigned tasks; including the necessity to work in the evenings occasionally.  The employee is required to travel on behalf of the organization, and travel will require nights and weekend work, as well.  Travel is estimated to be less than 10% of the time.  This position requires working independently as well as part of a team and also requires verbal and face-to-face contact with others on a daily basis.  

Physical Demands:  

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and work on a computer for extended periods of time. The employee will be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, pull, grasp and bend over. The employee must be able to lift, carry and move up to 20 pounds as needed.
