Title: Young Alumnae Experience Coordinator
Staff Liaison: Director of Alumnae Engagement
Position Status: Volunteer, two-year appointment
Position Summary: Works with the director of alumnae experience (DAE) to create events and communication to increase engagement and of young alumnae. This person ensures the alumnae engagement team creates relevant experiences and appropriately promotes programs that strengthen the connection of young alumnae (10 or less years from graduation) to Sigma Kappa after graduation.
Qualifications:

Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Less than 10 years removed from collegiate membership

Experience working with undergraduates and/or alumnae and life skills that relate to the position summary

Experience and/or familiarity with membership engagement
-
Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, organizational skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
-
Works closely with the director of alumnae experience and alumnae engagement staff to develop a strategize to increase engagement of young alumnae to Sigma Kappa
-
Develop a communication strategy to assist staff in reaching young alumnae, including identifying appropriate communication channels and messaging to increase young alumnae awareness of programs and events

Create events and activities to foster interest and engagement of young alumnae

Works cooperatively with the director of collegiate alumnae relations (DCAR) and advisory council to identify gaps in the current transition process from collegian to alumnae membership and communicate the purpose of the alumnae experience prior to graduation

Collaborates with director of alumnae chapter management (DACM) to increase relevance and appeal of alumnae chapter experience to young alumnae

Participates in conference calls with national officers, team members and/or NHQ staff as necessary

Promotes the ongoing development of a service rapport with collegiate chapters, local and national volunteers, headquarters staff, and all members of the Sorority.

Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors, and others.

Follows national policies and procedures and abides by local house/suite rules when visiting collegiate chapter facilities.

Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa and a strong sisterhood in all related interactions.

Completes all required training and onboarding and participates in additional training opportunities offered to national volunteers.

Attends the Summit for Volunteers annually.

Attends national convention in even-numbered years.

Per the National Policy Handbook, all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters.

All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation in accordance with the National Policy Handbook.

Performs other duties as assigned by the director of alumnae engagement.

Technical/Computer Skills:

Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
-
3-4 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
-
National convention: four days in even years, with travel (responsible for paying convention registration fee)
Optional Travel:
-
Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as a facilitator, via the application process)
Time Commitment:
10-15 hours per month

Participate in quarterly volunteer director calls and other calls as needed

Participate in regular calls with supervisor and/or national headquarters staff
-
Participate in monthly calls with volunteer team
Volunteer Environment:

This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.

This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others. Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
