                  Title: Director of CAP Recruitment  

  Staff Manager: Director of Growth and Collegiate Support Manager - CAP   

Position Status: Volunteer, two-year appointment   
   

Position Summary: Responsible for promoting and supervising all areas of recruitment for CAP chapters. The director strives to continuously improve the national awareness of recruitment to collegians and alumnae.  

 

Qualifications:  

  • Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority  

  • Experience working with undergraduates and/or alumnae and/or life skills that relate to the position summary  

  • Prior experience and/or familiarity with recruitment preferred  

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, organizational and delegation skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills  

  

Responsibilities:  

  • Recruits, trains and oversees CAP-Recruitment Coordinators (CAP-RCs) s and ensures roles and responsibilities are completed as expected  

  • In conjunction with CDD-CAP and CAP-RCs, work to develop and maintain chapter dashboards that assist in chapter goal tracking  

  • In collaboration with each CAP chapter recruitment coordinator, develop a three-year recruitment growth plan for CAP chapters. Evaluate and revise as necessary  

  • Collaborate with CDD-CAP, CAP coordinator team and CSM-CAP to develop a strategy for transition back into the district during the off-boarding process  

  • Oversees all primary recruitment and COB activities for all CAP chapters, ensuring chapters are working toward campus  

  • Works closely with the CDD-CAP and CAP-RC in the development, evaluation, revision and completion of CAP chapters strategic planning  

  • Develops a communication structure and cadence for CAP chapter teams including monthly reporting of chapter progress  

  • Partners with the CDD-CAP and CSM-CAP on the overall strategic direction of assigned CAP chapters throughout the academic year

  • Exhibits a positive, problem-solving mindset and a spirit of teamwork and cooperation    

  • Maintains and develops materials and procedure files as appropriate to the position   

  • Maintains high professional and personal standards   

  • Promotes the ongoing development of a service rapport with collegiate chapters, local and national volunteers, headquarters staff and all members of the Sorority   

  • Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contact with other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors and others   

  • Follows national policies and procedures and abide by the local house/suite rules of each chapter during visits   

  • Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa 

  • Attends national convention (even years) and participates in other training(s) offered to national volunteers. Failure to complete required onboarding and training could result in the withholding of a convention allowance or potential removal from position    

  • Required attendance at the Summit for Volunteers (annually)  

  • Per the National Policy Handbook (NPH), all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation, , per the National Policy Handbook   

  • Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the director of growth of Sigma Kappa Sorority   

  • Foster an environment where members are welcomed, valued for who they are, and everyone is treated with respect.  

  

Technical/Computer Skills:   

  • Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.   

  • Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools   i.e MyVote, CampusDirector, ICS, etc

Travel Requirements:   

  • Around 5 days annually, more in a convention year. 10% weekdays, 90% weekends   

  • National convention: four days in even years, with travel (volunteers are responsible for paying the registration fee)  
       

Optional Travel:    

  • Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as a facilitator, via the application process)   

  
Time Commitment:   

  • Approximately 10-15 hours per week when not traveling  

  • Participate in quarterly volunteer director calls (one-two hours), monthly stakeholder calls, and other calls as needed  

  • Participate in regular calls with supervisor and/or national headquarters staff   

  • Participate in regular calls with volunteer team  

  • Leads and participates in regular calls for CAP chapter team volunteers  

  
Volunteer Environment:    

  • This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.    

  • This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others. Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.    

  • The position requires appropriate confidentiality and discretion.
