Title: Collegiate Finance Coordinator (CFC)
Supervisor’s Title: Director of Chapter Finance (DCF)
Position Status: Volunteer, one-year appointment
Position Summary: Works under the direction of the DCF, the chapter finance specialist (CFS), and the senior director of operational strategy (SDOS) to ensure that all assigned collegiate chapters are in good financial standing with the national organization and provides training to finance advisors (FINAs).
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field preferred

Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority
-
Experience with collegiate chapter finances and knowledge of accounting software (Billhighway)
-
Strong written and oral communication skills; customer service skills; organizational and delegation skills, attention to detail; presentation and facilitation skills; strong interpersonal/relationship building skills
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Responsibilities:
-
Works with national headquarters (NHQ) finance team to help bridge communication between collegiate chapters and headquarters staff
-
Maintains open communication with NHQ staff and finance and collegiate management volunteers regarding chapter financial issues
-
Checks in regularly with FINAs and vice presidents of finance (VPFs) in their assigned district
-
Monitor and support collegiate chapters in maintaining strong financial health and clean Billhighway accounting as requested by NHQ
-
Participates in team calls with national officers, advisors, team members and/or chapter officers as necessary
-
Determine and communicate to the DCF and CFS the chapters in need of financial assistance
-
Provides support/education on outstanding business and automatic financial suspension (AFS) practices. Reviews AFS forms in Dove Hub

Reviews and approves Petitions for Special Dispensation – Financial Expulsion in Dove Hub

Ensures accurate reporting of AFS usage for tracking of Standards of Excellence (SOE) points

Provide training and support in collegiate chapter budgeting matters. Review, approve, and track collegiate chapter budgets as outlined by NHQ
-
Assists in getting delinquent accounting items from collegiate chapters as outlined in the procedures for NHQ accounting
-
Participates in financial training/retreats or other similar events as scheduled

Partners with applicable coordinator, educational programs staff and collegiate services staff to develop and provide training resources for FINAs as needed

Reviews all visit reports, by staff or volunteers, and responds and follows up as necessary

Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contact with other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors and others

Follows national policies and procedures and abide by the local house/suite rules of each chapter during visits

Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa and a strong sisterhood in all chapters visited

Attends national convention (even years) and the Summit for Volunteers (annually) as well as participates in other training(s) offered to national volunteers. Failure to complete required onboarding and training could result in the withholding of a convention allowance (even years) or potential removal from position

Per the National Policy Handbook (NPH), all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation, Inc., per the National Policy Handbook

Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the director of chapter finance or chapter finance specialist of Sigma Kappa Sorority
Technical/Computer Skills:

Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
-
3-4 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
-
National convention: four days in even years, with travel (responsible for paying convention registration fee)
Optional Travel:
-
Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as facilitator, via the application process)
Time Commitment:
7 - 14 hours per week when not travelling

Participate in regular calls with supervisor and/or NHQ staff

Participate in regular calls with volunteer team
-
Participate in regular calls (as needed) with assigned collegiate chapters
-
Participate in quarterly national officer calls
Volunteer Environment:

This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.

This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others.
