Title: Risk Management Coordinator
Supervisor Title: Director of Harm Reduction
Position Status: Volunteer, two-year appointment
Position Summary: Works under the direction of the director of harm reduction and harm reduction manager to advance harm reduction efforts through accountability process oversight, event management, chapter support, collaborative programming, and the consistent implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Experience working with undergraduates and/or alumnae and/or life skills that relate to the position summary

Prior experience and/or familiarity with accountability processes and policy compliance
-
Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational and delegation skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills focused on curiosity and empathy
Responsibilities:
-
Collaborates with national volunteers and entity staff to bridge partnership between chapters and headquarters staff
-
Serves as a resource to chapters by providing guidance on organizational policies, risk management practices, and accountability processes
-
Maintains awareness of chapter needs through ongoing district tracking, risk incident updates, and documentation follow up
-
Provides bi-weekly reports on district trends, and areas of concern to the director of harm reduction (DHR) and harm reduction manager (HRM)
-
Coach chapters toward safer and sustainable culture and decision making opportunities
-
Supports the progress of chapters who have received an outcome letter.

Reviews standards council meeting minutes to ensure appropriate accountability policies and procedures are followed with a focus on restorative outcomes
-
Provides support for standards council meetings to collegiate chapters as needed or in the absence of a local advisor to attend the meeting
-
Reviews proposed changes to chapter codes of conduct to ensure alignment with National Policy Handbook and campus requirements, allowing for flexibility for chapter-specific needs

Supports the event registration process by; reviewing event registration forms (ERFs) and vendor contracts, providing guidance for insurance and organizational policy compliance, and enforcing timely submission expectations. Reviews event registration forms (ERFs) for collegiate chapters

Supports de-escalation tactics with collegiate officers and volunteers

Promotes member wellness by connecting chapters with resources and encouraging inclusive practices

Facilitates and evaluates educational programming that equips members and volunteers with the knowledge and skills to reduce risk and strengthen chapter culture

Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors, and others.

Follows national policies and procedures and abides by local house/suite rules when visiting collegiate chapter facilities.

Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa and a strong sisterhood in all related interactions.

Completes all required training and onboarding and participates in additional training opportunities offered to national volunteers.

Attends the Summit for Volunteers annually.

Attends national convention in even-numbered years.

Per the National Policy Handbook, all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters.

All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation in accordance with the National Policy Handbook.

Performs other duties as assigned by the director of harm reduction and harm reduction manager.

Technical/Computer Skills:

Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
-
Travels, as assigned by the DHR and HRM, to support collegiate chapters as needed in their assigned district
-
National convention: three days in even years, with travel (volunteers are responsible for paying the registration fee)
Optional Travel:
-
1-2 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
Time Commitment:
-
10-15 hours per week

Participate in regular communication with DHR and HRM

Participate in monthly calls with volunteer team
-
Participate in regular calls for CAP chapters, as needed
-
Participate in annual Summit for Volunteer training (~4 hours)
Volunteer Environment:

This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.

This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others.

Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
