Title: Online Community Coordinator
Supervisor Title: Director of Online Communities (DOC)
Staff Liaison: Social and Digital Media Specialist (SDMS)
Position Status: Micro volunteer, six-month appointment
Position Summary: Works under the direction of the director of online communities, who will assign specific tasks related to the administration and monitoring of Sigma Kappa virtual groups and clubs. Collaborates with NHQ communication team staff and Sigma Kappa volunteers as needed.
Qualifications:

Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Experience working with undergraduates and/or alumnae and/or life skills that relate to the position summary
-
Prior experience and/or familiarity with social media trends and platforms and online communities
-
Ability to ensure online communities continue to be inclusive, equitable and accessible
-
Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, organizational and delegation skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
-
Helps monitor the Sigma Kappa alumnae Facebook group and other online communities
-
Confirms members and engages in organic content for the group
-
Connects members of alumnae Facebook group and virtual groups with staff and/or volunteers as requested by Director of Online Communities (DOC) and Alumnae Engagement Coordinator (AEC)

If requested by the AEC, serves as an administrator to one virtual club (i.e., cooking club, travel and book club)

Keeps DOC updated on any possible issues in groups or clubs

Work with the DOC to keep group guidelines and rules up to date
-
Serves as a Sigma Kappa brand ambassador

Helps gather group data or insights at the request of the DOC

Promotes the ongoing development of a service rapport with collegiate chapters, local and national volunteers, headquarters staff, and all members of the Sorority.

Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors, and others.

Follows national policies and procedures and abides by local house/suite rules when visiting collegiate chapter facilities.

Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa and a strong sisterhood in all related interactions.

Completes all required training and onboarding and participates in additional training opportunities offered to national volunteers.

Attends the Summit for Volunteers annually.

Attends national convention in even-numbered years.

Per the National Policy Handbook, all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters.

All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation in accordance with the National Policy Handbook.

Performs other duties as assigned by the director of online communities.

Technical/Computer Skills:

Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
-
3-4 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
-
National convention: four days in even years, with travel (responsible for paying convention registration fee)
Optional Travel:
-
Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as a facilitator, via the application process)
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week

Participate in regular calls with supervisor and/or national headquarters staff
-
Participate in regular calls with volunteer team
Volunteer Environment:

This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.

This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others. Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
