Title: Director of Collegiate Alumnae Relations
Staff Manager: Director of Alumnae Engagement
Position Status: Volunteer, two-year appointment
Position Summary: The director of collegiate alumnae relations (DCAR) serves as the manager between alumnae and collegiate chapters and supervises the collegiate alumnae advisory council.
Qualifications:

Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority
-
Experience working with undergraduates and/or alumnae and/or life skills that relate to the position summary
-
Prior experience and/or familiarity with membership engagement
-
Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, organizational and delegation skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
-
Works directly with and supervises the collegiate alumnae relations advisory council to provide resources and tools to help educate collegiate members about lifetime membership
-
Works cooperatively with Sorority staff and alumnae team members, specifically the young alumnae experience coordinator (YAEC), alumnae district directors (ADDs) and collegiate district directors (CDDs), to address matters pertaining to alumnae/collegiate relations

Creates and carries out virtual programs that foster relationships between collegiate and alumnae members

Facilitates roundtable discussions for collegiate level alumnae relations officers and advisors to help provide guidance on connecting with alumnae and paired alumnae chapters

Provides resources and guidance to alumnae chapter officers on fostering relationships with collegiate members

Collaborates with staff and DACM to support the alumnae initiate program
-
Participates in calls with national officers, team members and/or staff as necessary

Promotes the ongoing development of a service rapport with collegiate chapters, local and national volunteers, headquarters staff and all members of the Sorority

Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors and others

Follows national policies and procedures and abides by the local house/suite rules in the case of visiting collegiate chapter facilities
-
Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa and a strong sisterhood in all related interactions
-
Attends national convention (even years) and participates in other training(s) offered to national volunteers. Failure to complete required onboarding and training could result in the withholding of a convention allowance or potential removal from position

Required attendance at the Summit for Volunteers (annually)

Per the National Policy Handbook (NPH), all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters

All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation, , per the National Policy Handbook
-
Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the director of alumnae engagement of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Technical/Computer Skills:
-
Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
-
3-4 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
-
National convention: four days in even years, with travel (responsible for paying convention registration fee)
Optional Travel:
-
Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as a facilitator, via the application process)
Time Commitment:
~15-20 hours per month when not traveling:

Participate in quarterly volunteer director calls (one-two hours) and other calls as needed
-
Participate in regular calls with national headquarters staff
-
Participate in regular calls with volunteer team, both the alumnae volunteer team and the collegiate-alumnae relations advisory council
Volunteer Environment:

This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.

This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others. Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
