Title: Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator (recruits and places advisory board volunteers)
Supervisor Title: Director of Volunteer Recruitment
Position Status: Volunteer, one-year appointment
Position Summary: Works under the direction of the director of volunteer recruitment to recruit and support the placement of alumnae members of the Sorority as advisory board supervisors (ABSs) in a designated geographical area (district); partners with collegiate district directors and district coordinators to support recruitment and retention efforts for advisory board members. For chapters on the chapter advancement program (CAP), VRC partners with CAP coordinators to support designated chapters.
Serves alongside organized, friendly, and flexible team of national volunteers who are passionate about recruiting a diverse group of alumnae to support each chapter to provide unique and fresh mentorship perspectives for our collegiate members across an assigned district and together nationally
Qualifications:
· Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority
· Experience working with alumnae and/or life skills that relate to the position summary
· Prior experience and/or familiarity with collegiate management structure and talent recruitment or building out a structured team
· Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, organizational and delegation skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
· Manages recruitment and placement of Sigma Kappa alumnae volunteers into local advisory board roles across assigned district by working with Advisory Board Supervisors and district volunteers to determine chapter needs
· Identifies qualified volunteers suitable for advisory board positions by connecting with alumnae members to engage new and past volunteers and guide placement and interview process into local chapter volunteer roles
· Communicates with Collegiate District Director (CDD) and Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator (VOC) during each chapter advisor appointment
· Serves in a triage capacity for chapters with struggling advisory boards/chapters without an ABS
· Aids Director of Volunteer Recruitment (DVR) in creating a talent bank of high potential volunteers for national or local level roles
· For CAP chapters, serves as a member of respective chapter advancement program (CAP) team

· Maintains and develops materials and procedure files as appropriate to the position

· Promotes the ongoing development of a service rapport with collegiate chapters, local and national volunteers, headquarters staff and all members of the Sorority
· Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contact with other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors and others
· Follows national policies and procedures and abide by the local house/suite rules of each chapter during visits
· Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa and a strong sisterhood in all chapters visited
· Attends national convention (even years) and the Summit for Volunteers (annually) as well as participates in other training(s) offered to national volunteers. Failure to complete required onboarding and training could result in the withholding of a convention allowance (even years) or potential removal from position
· Per the National Policy Handbook (NPH), all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation, Inc., per the National Policy Handbook
· Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the director of volunteer recruitment or director of volunteer engagement of Sigma Kappa Sorority
Technical/Computer Skills:
· Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
· Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
· 3-4 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
· National convention: four days in even years, with travel (responsible for paying convention registration fee)
Optional Travel:
· Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as a facilitator, via the application process)
Time Commitment:
Typically 3-5 hours per week; during biannual fall ABS reappointment cycle 10 hours per week
· Participate in regular calls with supervisor, peer team and/or national headquarters staff
· May participate in regular calls with volunteer team including district and CAP chapter assignments
· Participate in regular calls with volunteer team
