Position Status: Volunteer, two-year appointment
Position Summary: Works under the direction of the director of collegiate chapter management in all matters concerning the conduct and function of the collegiate chapters in a designated geographical area (district); supervises, guides, and assists advisory board supervisors to set and attain goals while working with fellow directors and district coordinators; fills role of advisory board supervisor when vacancies exist in assigned district
Qualifications:

Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Experience working with undergraduates and/or alumnae and/or life skills that relate to the position summary

Prior experience and/or familiarity with collegiate management
-
Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, organizational and delegation skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
-
Works with collegiate management team, NHQ staff, and risk management team to bridge communication between chapters and headquarters staff
-
Oversees strategic progress of collegiate chapters in their district by monitoring chapter operations, advisory board health, chapter goals, Standards of Excellence (SOE), chapter accreditation, internal assessment review and support and awards
-
Supervises advisory board supervisors (ABSs) in assigned district, provides regular support to ABSs through communication, monthly touchpoints, etc.

Reviews all visit reports, by staff or volunteers; responds and provides necessary follow up
-
Provides immediate support to collegiate chapters in assigned district as related to crisis management and navigating interpersonal interactions or conflicts
-
Serves as temporary replacement for vacant ABS roles in assigned district
-
Partners with volunteer recruitment coordinator (VRC) in addressing ABS vacancies in assigned district to ensure the right ABS is placed based on collegiate chapter needs
-
Partners with risk team in responding to and addressing risk incidents and supports advisory board supervisor with follow-up
-
When needed, provides support to collegiate chapter officers regarding membership status changes; serves as final approval on expulsion related paperwork and if necessary, appeals

Collaborates with district coordinator and director level volunteers to leverage support for collegiate chapters, as needed
-
Respond within a 72-hour business hour window to communications

Promotes the ongoing development of a service rapport with collegiate chapters, local and national volunteers, headquarters staff and all members of the Sorority

Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contact with other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors and others

Follows national policies and procedures and abides by the local house/suite rules of each chapter during visits
-
Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa
-
Attends national convention (even years) and participates in other training(s) offered to national volunteers. Failure to complete required onboarding and training could result in the withholding of a convention allowance or potential removal from position

Required attendance at the Summit for Volunteers (annually)
-
Per the National Policy Handbook (NPH), all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters
-
All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation, , per the National Policy Handbook
-
Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the director of collegiate chapter management or collegiate support manager of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Technical/Computer Skills:
-
Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
-
~10 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
-
Travels to collegiate chapters in assigned district on an as-needed basis
-
National convention: four days in even years, with travel (volunteers are responsible for paying the registration fee)
Optional Travel:
-
Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as a facilitator, via the application process)
Time Commitment:
~10-20 hours per week when not traveling:
-
Participate in quarterly volunteer director calls (one-two hours) and other calls with district team as needed
-
Participate in regular calls with supervisor and/or national headquarters staff manager
-
Participate in regular calls with volunteer team
-
Respond to email regularly from collegiate chapters in assigned district as related to operations, membership retention, chapter conflict, crisis management, and other questions as asked
-
Participate in quarterly check-in calls with all ABS in assigned district
-
Monthly CDD calls and biweekly calls with CSM
Volunteer Environment:

This position requires working independently as well as part of a team

This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others. Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary
