Title: Director of Alumnae Chapter Management
Staff Manager: Alumnae Engagement Specialist
Position Status: Volunteer, two-year appointment
Position Summary: The director of alumnae chapter management (DACM) oversees all matters concerning the function of alumnae chapter management and strategic goals; supervises, guides, and assists the alumnae district directors (ADDs) in their work to set and attain goals.
Qualifications:

Initiated member of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Experience working with alumnae chapters and/or life skills that relate to the position summary
-
Prior experience and/or familiarity with alumnae chapter management and operations
-
Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, organizational and delegation skills, time and project management, attention to detail, and interpersonal/relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
-
Coordinates chapter management efforts of ADDs and serves as an additional resource for alumnae officers
-
Encourages growth of alumnae chapter membership by providing alumnae chapter recruitment resources and promoting the alumnae initiate program
-
Receives, acknowledges, and maintains alumnae chapter reports, correspondence, etc. and creates and/or provides additional resources, as needed
-
Maintains repository of successful alumnae chapter ideas, events, and programs to share with ADDs and alumnae chapter officers
-
Identifies programming and training needs of alumnae chapters and alumnae chapter officers and communicates those needs to staff
-
Collaborates with the alumnae staff team to monitor convention allowance eligibility for alumnae chapters and encourages alumnae chapters to stay in compliance with eligibility requirements

Works directly with a small (3-6) group of alumnae chapters identified by the ACM team as needing additional, specialized support

Serves as interim ADD(s) during volunteer vacancies

Serves as the subject matter expert during ADD interviews

Participates in calls with national officers, team members and/or staff as necessary

Promotes the ongoing development of a service rapport with collegiate chapters, local and national volunteers, headquarters staff and all members of the Sorority

Maintains positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, other NPC, NPHC, MGC and NIC groups, university officials, vendors and others

Follows national policies and procedures and abides by the local house/suite rules in the case of visiting collegiate chapter facilities
-
Promotes a sense of national pride in Sigma Kappa and a strong sisterhood in all related interactions

Attends national convention (even years) and participates in other training(s) offered to national volunteers. Failure to complete required onboarding and training could result in the withholding of a convention allowance or potential removal from position

Per the National Policy Handbook (NPH), all national officers shall pay alumnae dues either to a local alumnae chapter or directly to national headquarters.

All national officers are encouraged to make an annual financial contribution and/or planned gift to the Sigma Kappa Foundation per the National Policy Handbook

Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the alumnae engagement specialist or director of alumnae engagement of Sigma Kappa Sorority

Technical/Computer Skills:
-
Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office software programs, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Ability and willingness to effectively use other position-related technology tools
Travel Requirements:
-
3-4 days annually, 10% weekdays, 90% weekends
-
National convention: four days in even years, with travel (responsible for paying convention registration fee)
Optional Travel:
-
Summit for Collegiate Leadership: three days annually, including travel (if selected as a facilitator, via the application process)
Time Commitment:
~25 hours per month

Participate in quarterly volunteer director calls (one-two hours) and other calls, as needed
-
Participate in regular calls with national headquarters staff
-
Lead monthly calls with alumnae volunteer team
-
Respond to email and Teams notifications within two business days
Volunteer Environment:

This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.

This position requires frequent verbal and face-to-face contact with others. Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
